HandSprung Productions again offered Production & Event Management working with event Producers Brighton & Hove Arts Commission, Brighton & Hove city council, and . . . → Read More: White Night – Brighton & Hove 2011]]> White Night 2011 was the biggest and best yet, with over 70 events inviting estimated audiences in excess of 40,000 to “do something different in the middle of the night” across Brighton & Hove.

HandSprung Productions again offered Production & Event Management working with event Producers Brighton & Hove Arts Commission, Brighton & Hove city council, and with partners across the city.

I worked with Lighthouse as Event Producer on the daylong conference which was part of the Brighton Digital Festival, September 2011.

Split into three strands; Reality Hacking, Beyond Cinema, and Gaming for Good, the conference explored the notion that digital artists and designers are shifting our perceptions of the world through their early adoption of technology such as augmented reality, 3D printing, and pervasive media.

The films were shot and edited by our friends The Spot Agency – reuniting the TEDxBrighton partnership. Thanks to them.

The speaker programme was excellent and a couple of personal highlights follow; Tim Boykett from Times Up and Adrian Hon.

White Night approaches at pace. We’re looking after the production and event management again this year and are looking forward to a fourth successful year – with no rain!

We’ve had a shuffle in personnel and this year, from our side, the event is being lead by the talented Polly Barker. Polly is currently deep into scheduling over 30 outdoor event locations, as well as multiple production, site management and technical teams.

This week I am starting a year-long contract with Exhibition Road Cultural Group managing a series of exciting events for next summer based broadly around the “art and science of sound”…. more info soon!

The job is starting slowly with a couple of days a week but I’ll be moving up to the megacity in December and going full-time full speed in the new year.

Inevitably (and somewhat sadly) this will mean less Brighton things next year, although we still hope to provide support to various projects and events, not least Take Part – which should have a great year to coincide with London2012.
